Places To See India's Tigers

While more needs to be done there is a good start with the number of sanctuaries and parks you can find in India not just to home the Royal Bengali Tiger but also to be the home of thousands of plants and animals. It is a great place to learn and enjoy different fauna and flora but with the Bengali tiger being so shy where can you head to try to see them?

Corbett National Park

This park is found in the Himalayas foothills where not only can you track and learn about the Royal Bangal Tiger but you can also enjoy staying in amazing forest lodges and take advantage of the support staff and expert guides available! The Dhikala range has the widest range of terrain and the Bijrani-Malani range has great water year-round making it a perfect place for prey to roam so the predators living there, including the tigers, can hunt. It is also a place you can enjoy a huge range of bird species as well as other fauna and flora.

Ranthambore National Park

A lovely park in the north, Ranthambore National Park is one of the most well-known and popular places to visit in Northern India and is 130 km from Jaipur. Once it was a hunting ground for Jaipur Maharajas but today it is a place where wildlife including tigers draws in many visitors each year.

Kanha National Park

In Central India, Madhya Pradesh has several tiger reserves you can visit which is why it is sometimes referred to as the tiger capital of the country. One of those is Kanha, one of the oldest parks in India. Head to a quiet camp by Mukki Gate and you can sleep in the park, and spend your day on a private jeep tour looking for tigers with a top naturalist. Also known as a tiger reserve it has a vast amount of forest and grassland and tigers are not the only creature you can observe.

Satpura national park

At Satpura National Park, also called Satpura Tiger reserve as well as observing the Royal Bengali Tiger you can go for a hike, see the easier-to-spot leopard, go kayaking and more. Find all kinds of species of butterflies and birds, and explore creeks, gorges and forest life. Then relax in a lodge in the evenings or head to a terrace bar and enjoy the views as you unwind.

Tadoba National Park

The Tadoba National Park found in Maharashtra was one of the lesser visited parks but has become popular in recent years. For Royal Bangal Tiger sightings all year round this is the only reserve open all the time. Its open waterholes and 2 small lakes make it a great place for them to thrive. You can stay in small lodges at the reserve.
